Two men died and one was injured from electrocution while they were installing a WIFI booster for online classes in Inabanga town on Friday afternoon, Nov. 26, 2021.
The fatalities were identified as
Alein Petalcorin, 33, a cellphone technician; Joey Vistal, 31, and Ricardo Ucab, 37, – all residents of Barangay Lutao, Inabanga.
Police Major Cresente Gurrea, chief of Inabanga Police Station, said the incident happened at around 4 p. m.
The victims were installing a WiFi signal booster using a bamboo pole as post with attached tie wires that was supposedly to balance out/ stabilize the pole. However, it accidentally established contact into the mainline of BOHECO live wire.
The three suffered severe injuries.
They were rushed to Francisco Dagohoy Municipal Hospital situated in Cagayan, Inabanga, for immediate medical attention but Petalcorin and Vistal were pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. Lao survived the incident and he was advised to stay in the hospital for further observation.
Gurrea said there was no sign of any manifestation of a crime surrounding the incident.
