Priests and other religious ministers are allowed to enter the cemeteries to celebrate Holy Mass or consecrate graves but no other people should attend it.

In a memorandum on Monday (Nov. 1),
acting provincial administrator Nilo Ahat said he received verbal inquiries regarding the exemption of priests, imams, rabbis, and religious ministers from the coverage of Executive Order No. 53, Series of 2021, which implemented the directive of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management on Emerging Infectious Disease.

Ahat said the EO does not cover priests, imams, rabbis, and religious ministers and their assistants to celebrate masses/religious services and render blessing and pouring of holy water to tombs as long as there are no attendees, parishioners or family members.

Private and public cemeteries will remain closed until November 2. Only priests and religious leaders can enter to perform religious activities.
