President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday afternoon led the inauguration of the seven completed seaport projects in Bohol.

The inauguration of the seven seaport projects in Bohol wrapped up the two-day visit of team Department of Transportation (DOTr) in the Visayas region following the inauguration of the completed Corporate Building at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport on Thursday.

The 7 seaport projects were completed in Tagbilaran, Jagna, Ubay, Tapal, Talibon, Loon, and Maribojoc Ports.

DOTr Secretary Art Tugade said these port projects in Bohol form part of the 472 commercial and social-tourism port projects completed by the DOTr and PPA since the Duterte administration took over in 2016.

“Today, we inaugurated 7 Maritime port projects completed by the DOTr and PPA in Bohol. Samahan pa ng ating world-class at first eco-airport dito sa probinsya na Bohol-Panglao International Airport, ” Tugade said.

” By opening these seven ports, we will not only secure opportunities for tourism and economic sustainability, but we are also ensuring Bohol Province’s inclusive growth and opened doors for investments, ” Tugade added.

Duterte said Bohol needs seaports to move.

“I am also confident that these ports will strengthen the capacity of Bohol as catalyst of economic growth in Central Visayas,” Duterte said.
