Jane Yap filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) on Friday, October 8, for mayor to replace her husband, at the city Commission on Election (Comelec).
Yap was accompanied by her husband, outgoing Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap, and her in-laws John and Geesnell, in filing her COC for mayor.
Her running mate is outgoing Councilor Adam Relson Jala, and candidates for councilors. They are Nick Besas, Ondoy Borja, Tim Butalid, Ody Glovasa, Atoy Torralba, Edgar Bompat, Bebot Budlong, Charles Cabalit, Gemma Inting and Butchie Zamora.
Yap, a former youth leader and GUGMA Tagbilaran founder, vows to continue her husband’s programs and projects to make Tagbilaran City progressive and livable city.
“Number one gyud ang pagpadayun sa pag-ansenso sa Tagbilaran. Mapadayun ang mga programa sa dakbayan sa Tagbilaran,” she said.
