Tagbilaran City Vicente “Dodong Agalon” Polinar filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayor in the 2022 local elections on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
Polinar rode a pedicab going to the city COMELEC office at 11 a. m.
He runs under the Progressive Movement for the Devolution of Initiatives (PROMDI).
His councilors- Noel Cagol, Luis Colo, Glorivic Yap-Dela Serna, Gabriel Espiritu, April Aiza Gallemit, Efren Ortiz, Eduardo Padua and Maximiliano Cornell also filed their COCs. His vice mayor Atty. Ramon Cimafranca has yet to file his COC.
“Magsugod na ang liberasyon sa Tagbilaran! Liberation sa bondage sa kamahal sa isda, petroleum products kay mahal ang gasolina, mahal kaayo ang tubig, mahal ang franchise for tricycles, ug ang labaw sa tanan liberasyon from the bondage of illegal clamping,” he said.
He said he would be running under the banner of the Senator Manny Pacquiao, who already announced his presidential run.
He also bared his plans and programs if ever elected:
- to solve the problem of high fish prices.
- to find out why the high prices of petroleum products sold in the city.
*to reduxe exorbitant rates of water sold to city consumers.
*to reduce alleged exorbitant franchise fee of tricycle imposed by city government.
*to provide P2, 000 monthly pension/allowance for senior citizens.
Polinar became provincial board member in Bukidnon in 1988-1992. He became director of Action Center in Malacanang during the Ramos administration.
He won as Tagbilaran City councilor in 2016 and 2019 elections.
