As anticipated, fewer aspirants filed their certificates of candidacies on Friday (Oct. 1), the start of the filing period for COCs.
The Bohol Provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday afternoon wrapped the start of the COC filing with 21 local post aspirants: one filed for governor, two for mayors in Corella and Batuan towns, one for vice mayor in Batuan, and 17 for councilors in Corella (8), Duero (1) and Batuan (8).
Unlike the usual fiesta-like scenario outside the Comelec’s office, this year’s first day of COC filing was quiet.
Provincial election supervisor Eliseo Labaria said candidates were only allowed to bring three companions during the filing.
Comelec is also imposing strict entrance requirements.
Political aspirants are required to have their body temperature check at fill in the health declaration form. The aspirant has to submit the duly accomplished COC with attachment. If appoved, then the aspirant , has to exit the building.
