The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Bohol barred vessels with less than 250 gross tonnage from sailing after the seas were experiencing big waves.
Only larger vessels were permitted to sail, said PCG-Western Bohol Commander Edzel Gonzagak.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) had issued gale warning signals in the Philippines due habagat enhanced by tropical storm Fabian.
Waves were apparently high and could endanger the lives of people boarding light and small seacrafts.
Pagasa warned that the bad weather may continue to generate big waves.
“All fishing boats and other small watercrafts which intend to take shelter shall be permitted as long as it is manifested through written request,” PCG-Western Bohol said.
