Village councilor tagged as rebel yields illegal guns

A village councilor and coordinator of the non-governmental organization Farmers Development Center (FARDEC) was arrested on Friday (June 25) after a police search at his house yielded weapons.

The police found unlicensed .45, KG9 Caliber Pistol and a grenade including
“subversive documents” at the home of Carmilo Nuera Tabada alias “Eloy”, 52, a resident of Purok 2 in Barangay Poblacion, Trinidad town, Bohol.

Police acted on the strength of a warrant issued by a local court.
