A 12-hour blackout occured in Bohol province on Saturday, June 5, due to preventive maintenance works.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the scheduled the power interruption started at 6 a. m. It is expected to resume at 6 p.m.

NGCP said it was due to the shutdown of the Corella-Tagbilaran and Tagbilaran-Garcia 69kV lines to facilitate line stringing activity of Bohol Light Inc. (BLCI), NGCP maintenance along the Corella-Tagbilaran line and annual preventive maintenance works at NGCP Tagbilaran Substation.

NGCP said specific affected areas were determined by the distribution utilities.

NGCP added it will exert efforts to restore power earlier, or as scheduled.
