Bohol 3rd district Representative Alexie Besas-Tutor on Tuesday night honored the bravery of the Philippine Air Force pilot who died in a helicopter crash in the seawaters off Getafe town on Tuesday morning.

In a Facebook post, Tutor was saddened by the death of Captain Aurelios Olaso Olano from Candijay town but recognized him for heroism and extraordinary service.

“Candijay’’s Angel Above the Skies… Gone too soon but forever remembered in all the hearts of all Candijaynon. We grieved as one as another fallen hero takes his place in the comforting arms of our Almighty,” Tutor said.

Olano, 32, hailed from Barangay Tugas in Candijay town.

Tutor said” Olano’s bravery and service to his countrymen is boundless.”

“Our dear “Au-au”, you will be terribly missed by all those who have known your kindness & selflessness. You are Candijay’s pride. You bring honor not only to your family but to us all, Candijaynon. Rest now. Our hero. Our angel,” Tutor said.

“To the family especially to his wife Louwela Bernales Olano, we pray for your strength in this most heartbreaking moment of your lives,” she added.

The aircraft took off from an air force base on nearby Mactan Island in Cebu province.

Olano died and his companiond were injured after the Philippine Air Force MD520MG attack helicopter was on maintenance flight when it went down around 9:30 a.m. in the sewaters off Jandayan Island in Getafe.
