A six-year-old boy and his 34-year-old aunt were killed on Saturday when a coconut tree uprooted and fell onto their kitchen in Barangay Poblacion in San Isidro town.

Police Staff Sergeant Marlon Hinay of San Isidro Police identified the victims as Antche Nodalo and Maribel Ybañes.

Ybañes, a resident of Barangay Sampoangon in Calape town, came to San Isidro for a family visit.

Around 11 a. m., Ybañes was cooking lunch when the coconut tree fell straight on the makeshift kitchen outside the house hitting her and the boy.

Villagers immediately responded to bring them to the hospital but it was already too late to save them.
