A fish vendor was arrested for selling alleged blasted fish on Valentine’s Day.

Maritime Police Station said they arrested fish vendor Ronel Torremocha Fernandez, 32, a resident of Banacon Island in Getafe town.

The enforcers, however, failed to arrest Fernandez’s companions identified as Nenita Tabigue from Bien Unido town and unidentified suspect from nearby Getafe town.

The enforcers intercepted Fernandez who tried to sell the blasted fish at Dao Public Market around 9 a.m. on February 14.

An explosive or dynamite was used in catching the fish, the authorities added.

Operatives confiscated three boxes of assorted fish locally known as “Molmol”, “Danggit”, and “Bariles” with an estimated value of P49,000.

The suspect is facing charges for possessing, dealing in or disposing illegally caught or taken fish.
