Two were arrested by police on Wednesday morning, Dec. 2 for allegedly yielding sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) and for illegal possession of firearms.

Police identified the suspects as Jan Bosco Igang, 30 and Hector Epe, 30, both residents of Purok 1 in Barangay Manga, Tagbilaran City.

It was a joint operation of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Regional Intelligence Unit 7, Maritime Police, Provincial Highway Patrol Team

Police said Igang allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer in a buy-bust operation at around 5:30 a.m.

A few minutes after the arrest, police also implemented a search warrant against the suspect for illegal possession of firearms.

Allegedly recovered from him were one unit caliber .38 revolver, two live bullets, two spent ammunitions and three more sachets of suspected “shabu”.

Seized from Epe were one unit caliber .9mm KG9 machine gun pistol, magazine for caliber .9mm KG9 machine gun pistol, 9 live bullets, and four sachets of suspected shabu.

Police said the operation stemmed from the report of a concerned citizen who tipped the suspects’ alleged illegal activities.

Igang and Epe were brought to the Camp Francisco Dagohoy for further investigation and filing of charges.
