Police, soldiers and members of civil society organizations on Monday called on the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and its allies to end their atrocities and stop the recruitment of youth.
The event was held at 5 p.m. at Plaza Rizal in Tagbilaran City.
Police Major Jacinto Mandal Jr, head of Police Community Affairs Development Unit ( PCADU) at the Bohol Police Provincial Office said the symbolic light a candle rally will end the snare of the communist insurgency.
Lt. Col. Mary Crystal Bunao Peralta, chief of Tagbilaran City Police Station, urged the communist groups to stay away from engaging vulnerable youth to join their cause.

Board Member Ricky Masamayor, chairman of the Provincial Peace and Order Council and author of declaring the CPP-NPA-NDF as persona-non-grata in the entire province of Bohol, graced the event.
The CPP-NPA-NDF is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
