A police official was declared dead on arrival in a local hospital after a severe asthma attack.
In a Facebook post, Governor Arthur Yap revealed that the chief of police of one Bohol town suffered an asthma attack in his home.
He was brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Yap did not mention the name of the police official.
The governor added that swab samples were taken from the police official and were sent to Cebu for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
He said that the swab test is a process to determine whether or not the death is Covid-19 related.
Yap added that all police personnel from the same police station have been isolated.
Consequently, augmentation forces have now been deployed by Col. Joselito Clarito to man the affected police station.
Yap also said that police’s home is under lockdown.
Editorial Note: Bohol Island News decided to withhold the name and personal circumstances of the police official in respect to the grieving family, and the fact that PCR test results have yet to come in.
