President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced that Bohol province will be placed under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) status from July 1 to July 15 based on the recommendations by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID).
He made this announcement during his “Talk to the People Address” late Tuesday night, June 30.
Three areas in Central Visayas are placed under MGCQ which include Bohol, Cebu province and Negros Oriental.
Cebu City will remain under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, Talisay City, Minglanilla and Consolacion will be placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
Duterte said Cebu is the new COVID-hotspot.
“You did not follow rules. Cebu is now the hotspot for COVID-19. Marami sa inyo hindi sumusunod.. kaya huwag kayong magagalit sa akin, ” said Duterte on the compliance of Cebuanos on quarantine control protocols.
“Ayaw mog kainsulto kay Cebuano ko. I come from Danao, Cebu. Kanang mga Bisaya talaga, maski sa Davao, yung mga Bisaya doon, ang titigas talaga ng ulo hindi mo mapasunod. Yan ang totoo. Suko mo nako, eh di masuko pod ko ninyo,” Duterte added.
