The local government unit of Panglao announced on Saturday that it is conducting contact tracing activity in Purok Dos in Barangay Bil-isan.
This developed after one of the two latest COVID-19 positive individuals working at a private hospital in Tagbilaran City reportedly had an interaction with some residents of the said community days before the result of the latest test came out.
A team composed of health personnel from the City Government of Tagbilaran, staff members of the Municipal Rural Health Unit of Panglao, and members of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team is conducting the said contact tracing.
The local government clarified that the COVID-19 positive individual is not a resident of the town.
However, she came to visit the area after her mother, who temporarily resides there, celebrated her birthday.
With this development, the LGU strongly encouraged all residents to strictly follow the health protocols which include the wearing of masks, washing of hands, complying with the physical distancing policy, and praying.
