Members of Tagbilaran City Police Station arrested a beneficiary of the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP) for alleged engagement in illegal drugs on Saturday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as Jason Castillon Dote alias “Tambas”, 36, a resident of Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City.
Dote was arrested in a drug bust at Purok 1 in Barangay Taloto on Saturday afternoon, May 16, which resulted in the recovery of P54,800 worth of suspected shabu.
Police said the suspect received his SAP allowance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the government’s aid for families affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect.
