A low-pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao has developed into a tropical depression named Ambo, state weather bureau Pagasa said Sunday afternoon.
Tropical Depression Ambo, the Philippines’ first tropical cyclone for 2020, is expected to bring cloudy skies, rains, and thunderstorms over the Philippines in the next 24 hours.
In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said Ambo was last seen 605 kilometers east of Davao City or 555 kilometers east of Hinatuan, with maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
Ambo is moving west-northwest at 15 kph.
