At least 121 Boholanos who were stranded in Bato Port in Leyte will arrive in Ubay town next week.

They were stranded in Bato after their boat trip didn’t make it to March 16 deadline when Bohol was placed in community quarantine.

These stranded passengers came from Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon bound for Ubay.

The community quarantine restricted domestic air, and domestic sea travel to Bohol until March 20 but it was extended to April 12, 2020.

Upon their arrival at the Ubay port, they will be quarantined at the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) building in Barangay Calanggaman.

They will stay at the building for a 14-day quarantine after they will land at Ubay port.

The movement of the quarantined Boholanos will be limited within the building and their relatives would be discouraged from visiting them.

Medical teams from Department of Health and provincial and local health officials will be manning the facility and they will be decked for their duties in the quarantine facility.

According to Liza Lecaros, municipal social welfare and development officer, they were billeted at the town’s evacuation center.

The local government unit of Bato headed by Mayor Nathaniel Gertos gave relief assistance.

Lecaros in her Facebook post said Bohol Governor Arthur Yap also gave P300,000 to support their needs.

Bohol Second district Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado also gave meals and hygiene kits.
