Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School (DCPNHS) in Tagbilaran City will suspend classes on Thursday, Friday and Monday (March 12,13 and 16, 2020).
The surprised announcement was relayed by the school advisers to their students on Wednesday morning, March 11.
The move is due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), a respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus that was first recorded in China’s city of Wuhan in Hubei province in December 2019.
DCPNHS has the biggest student population in Bohol province with more than 6,000 students and 259 teachers.
As of Wednesday, the Philippines has 16 additional cases of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the number of confirmed cases to 49.
This is a developing story.
