The Department of Health (DOH) in Manila has confirmed eight persons under investigation for coming in contact with the 3rd Chinese woman whose first sample tested positive of the 2019- novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD).
DOH Undersecretary Enrique Domingo confirmed this in a press conference this afternoon.
He said these eight individuals are now considered persons under investigation or PUIs.
Although there was no detailed information about the eight people but he said they all showed symptoms of the respiratory disease and as protocol had to undergo the 14-day quarantine.
They were part of the 224 people that the DOH Epidemiology Bureau (EB) had traced as part of its contact tracing efforts.
Those who were part of the contact tracing were hotel staff and medical hospital staff in Bohol and co-passengers from a flight that the 60-year-old woman boarded from Hong Kong to Cebu.
As of today, the number of PUIs is kow at 313.

Out of those, 261 PUIs are still admitted at different quarantine facilities in the country while 48 were already discharged.
