Storm Signal no. 2 has been raised in parts of the Visayas as tropical storm Ursula strengthened Monday, state weather agency Pagasa said.

A day before the eve of Christmas, moderate to heavy rains are expected in the Visayas.

Ursula is forecast to gradually intensify prior to landfall over Eastern Visayas Tuesday afternoon or evening.

At 7.p.m. today, Dec. 23, the center of Ursula was estimated at 625 km East of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte (10.1°N, 131.2°E).
