The daughter of a former barangay captain in Bohol was killed inside her house in Sitio Missionaries in Barangay Suba, Cebu City Friday dawn (November 29) by two unidentified perpetrators.
Police identified the victim as certain Vicenta Abas Abaño, 40.
It was found out in the investigation that Abaño was the fourth member of their family who was shot dead since June this year.
According to Police Corporal Carlos Irizari, the case investigator, Vicenta was alone inside the house when the incident happened.
Witness told police that three unknown suspects barged into the house and killed the victim.
“Ang problema namo karon kay walay mo tug-an kon kinsa ang misulod, duna man siguro apan dili gyud mo tingog,” said Irizari.
Police Major Kenneth Paul Albotrab, chief of San Nicolas Police, said that there is a possibility that killing of the Abaño members was driven by vengeance.
Vicenta’s brother, Ninolito, was killed by unknown assailants inside his shop in barangay Pahina San Nicolas, Cebu City last July 19.
Ninolito’s father, Alejandro Abaño, the former village chief of Jagoliao, an island in Getafe, Getafe town in Bohol, was also killed by still unidentified assailants while sleeping inside his house at past 4 a.m. on June 28.
He was with his wife, incumbent Jagoliao Barangay Captain Enriqueta, who was left unharmed, in a room on the second floor.
But Abaño’s personal help, Johnrey Boc, was also killed during the attack.
Albano and his wife are natives of Getafe, but they have a business in Barangay Pasil, Cebu City.
This is a developing story.
