Little Castiel from Panglao needs your help

Two-year-old Castiel Ababa will be turning three this coming January 2020.

However, she may have at least nine years to live if she wouldn’t undergo surgery.

Castiel was born with an “inherent ventricular septal defect” of her heart.

According to Goetz Kohlberg, a German national and the boyfriend of Castiel’s aunt, pediatrist told them that she may not able to reach the age of 12 if she wouldn’t undergo life-saving heart surgery.

Unfortunately, Castiel’s parents could only do so much since his father Jojo Ababa only earns roughly P17,000 a month for being an aircon technician in Cebu City.

Castiel lives with her mother Candy Dungog in Panglao, Bohol.

Candy is three months pregnant with their second child and is expected to also give birth by May 2020.

Kohlberg said Castiel’s surgery has been pegged by doctors at an estimate of P800,000. Plus an open heart surgery for Castiel’s case could only be done by specialists who are available in Manila.

SECOND OPINION

Last Oct. 6, they went to Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City to ask for the second opinion about Castiel’s case.

This time, they sought the expertise of a pediatrician who specializes in cardiology.

The doctor told them that Castiel’s heart is missing the upper cardiac septum, therefore, open heart surgery is necessary.

Kohlberg has put up a Go Get Funding page for Castiel so they could raise the money for her surgery.
