Two motorcycle drivers died in a vehicular accident along the national highway in Barangay Sambog in Corella town, at around 7 p.m. on Saturday night, September 21, 2019.
The victims were identified as Raymond Paul Andoy, 31, a resident of Purok 4 in Barangay Poblacion, Corella town and Anthony Lacea, 35, a resident of Purok 6 in Barangay Alegria, Catigbian town.
Andoy’s backrider identified as Kleonel John Duterte, 24, a resident of Poblacion, Corella, Bohol, was seriously injured.
According to the initial investigation of Corella Police Station, Andoy was on his way to Corella at around 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, when the motorcycle he was driving collided with another motorcycle being driven by Lacea, at the National Highway of Purok 1 in Sambog, Corella town.
After the impact, Andoy swerved to the left shouldering portion of the road then rammed to a nearby electric post and he fell down.
Both drivers and Andoy’s backrider were brought to different hospitals in Tagbilaran for medical attention but Andoy was declared dead on arrival.
Police said Lacea also died on Sunday morning, while Duterte who suffered several injuries and is still recovering in the district hospital.
