Police arrested on Friday (Aug. 30) a youth council chair during a buy-bust operation in Batuan town.
Arrested by Batuan police was Ruin Sumampong, 24, a youth council (Sangguniang Kabataan) of Barangay Quezon in Batuan, one of the towns where its barangays were declared as “drug-free”.
Also arrested was Sumampong’s friend Marlon Canda, 23, of the same barangay. Canda is a dean’s lister in a college he is studying.
He was arrested after selling shabu, or crystal meth, to an undercover agent.
Found from the suspects’ possession was P2,000 worth of meth.
