Two dead and 14 other passengers were missing after a Dapitan City-bound ferry caught fire on Tuesday evening, hours after leaving Cebu.
Apple Marie Agolong, tourism officer of Dapitan City, said on her Facebook account that out of 136 passengers 110 were already rescued.
Two passengers, a one year-old infant and 60 year-old died, while 14 others were still missing.
Agolong based her post on the report of their City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
She said other passengers were brought to GV Hotel in Dapitan City to rest.
The management of the shipping company assisted the passengers, she added.
