The local government unit (LGU) of Panglao in Bohol ordered the closure of the branch last June 13 or three days after it was opened to the public.
The fastfood chain branch located in Barangay Tawala was closed by the LGU due to alleged violations.
Panglao Mayor Leonila Paredes-Montero said it had no occupancy permit, no fire safety inspection certificate, and a business permit.
All business establishments operating within the jurisdiction of Panglao town are required to secure a Business Permit or Mayor’s Permit before starting the operation.
The McDonald’s branch is the third branch outside the capital city of Tagbilaran. Four other branches are found at BQ Mall and J.A. Clarin Street, Jagna and Tubigon towns.
