TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Board Member and lawyer Jiselle Rae “Jamie” Aumentado Villamor has completed the Executive Education for Young Legislators at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) of the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Villamor was the only Boholano selected for the program, which brought together young legislators from across the Philippines to discuss governance, public service, social policies, artificial intelligence, climate change law, disaster response, fiscal prudence and economic policy.

The program ran from July 23 to Aug. 31, 2026, combining virtual sessions with an in-person learning journey and closing program in Singapore. It was conducted in partnership with the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL).

Her selection followed a review process and concurrence of the NMYL National Executive Committee, which cited her performance, commitment to public service and leadership, as well as her potential contribution to policy development and governance.

Villamor said she plans to apply the lessons she gained from the program, particularly in fiscal discipline, economic policy and sound governance, to her legislative work and policy discussions in Bohol.

“I believe that learning must be continuous,” Villamor said, adding that the program gave her knowledge and perspectives that could help strengthen her work in legislation, governance and public service.

She said she hopes to promote responsible fiscal management and policies that support sustainable economic development and help constituents become more self-sufficient.

Villamor personally shouldered her travel and related expenses for the Singapore session as part of her continuing professional development.

The program also fulfilled a professional goal she had first considered seven years ago.

In 2019, while serving as Corporate Board Secretary of the National Irrigation Administration, Villamor had planned to enroll in an executive education program at LKYSPP-NUS. Professional responsibilities and personal circumstances, however, led her to defer the plan.

Seven years later, she was able to pursue the goal through the Executive Education for Young Legislators program.

“It is deeply meaningful to finally fulfill something I had hoped to pursue years ago,” Villamor said. “More than a personal milestone, I see this as an opportunity to bring what I have learned back into my work and into the service of our people.”
