TAGBILARAN CITY — A total of 6,299 qualified beneficiaries from four municipalities in Bohol received rice assistance as the provincial government of Bohol continued the second tranche of its Bugas Ayuda Rice Distribution Program on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Led by Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado, the latest distribution covered beneficiaries under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) in the municipalities of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, Candijay, Baclayon, and Dimiao.
The provincial government said 2,071 beneficiaries received rice assistance in Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, 1,887 in Candijay, 1,387 in Baclayon, and 954 beneficiary families in Dimiao.
The simultaneous distribution was spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD) in coordination with the respective municipal governments and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs).
Provincial officials also acknowledged the support of barangay officials, barangay tanods, and volunteers, whose assistance helped ensure the orderly, efficient, and transparent distribution of rice assistance.
The Bugas Ayuda Program is implemented under the Local Government Support Fund of the national government led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
According to the provincial government, the program reinforces its continuing commitment to strengthening food security while providing timely assistance to vulnerable Boholano families.
Officials said the initiative aims to help ease the burden of daily living and ensure that government support reaches communities throughout the province, a Unesco Global Geopark.
