TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The Commission on Higher Education in Central Visayas (CHED-7) announced that BIT International College–Tagbilaran, Inc. will discontinue its Bachelor of Science in Maritime Engineering (BSMarE) program beginning Academic Year 2026–2027.
In an advisory, CHED-7 said no new enrollees will be accepted for the program moving forward. The decision marks a phase-out of the maritime engineering course offered by the institution.
The school is expected to assist currently enrolled students in transferring to other maritime schools to ensure the continuity of their studies and completion of academic requirements.
CHED-7 advised affected students and stakeholders to coordinate with the school administration and concerned authorities for proper guidance and assistance regarding transition arrangements.
Further details and implementing guidelines have yet to be released.
