TAGBILARAN CITY—Passengers traveling to and from Tagbilaran City will see higher fares starting April 10, 2026, as OceanJet announced a 10 percent fuel surcharge on all routes amid rising global fuel prices.
In an advisory issued in compliance with Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) Advisory No. 2026-10, the company said the adjustment is necessary to cope with increasing operational costs brought about by fuel price hikes.
The surcharge affects key routes in and out of Bohol’s capital, including Cebu–Tagbilaran and Tagbilaran–Siquijor, among others.
Under the new rates, Cebu–Tagbilaran trips are now priced at P1,000 for tourist/open air accommodation and P1,560 for business class. The same rates apply to Tagbilaran–Siquijor trips, while Tagbilaran–Dumaguete fares have been adjusted to P1,170 for tourist class and P1,820 for business class.
Company officials acknowledged that the fare increase may affect travel plans but assured passengers that the surcharge is temporary and will be lifted once fuel prices stabilize.
Despite the adjustment, OceanJet emphasized its commitment to maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable sea transport services, especially for passengers traveling through Tagbilaran, a key gateway to and from Bohol.
