TAGBILARAN CITY — Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado called on Boholanos to welcome 2026 with courage and determination in his New Year’s message released on Wednesday.

In a video statement, Aumentado urged the public to face the coming year without hesitation or fear, drawing strength from the resilience of the Boholano people.

“My heartfelt gratitude to each and every Boholano for your resilience, unity, and unwavering love for our province,” he said.
“This year has tested us in many ways, but it has also shown the true strength of the Boholano spirit — matinabangon, malig-on, ug puno sa paglaum,” he added.

The governor said Bohol has taken meaningful steps toward progress, citing improvements in public services, efforts to strengthen the local economy, continued support for farmers and fisherfolk, investments in education and health, and the protection of the province’s natural environment.

He emphasized that these gains were achieved not by government alone, but through the cooperation and trust of the people.

“As your governor, I remain committed to transparent, responsive, and inclusive governance,” Aumentado said.

“Our vision of a progressive, resilient, and sustainable Bohol is within reach if we continue to work hand in hand, guided by integrity, compassion, and shared responsibility,” he added.

He concluded by calling for unity and compassion as the new year begins, saying, “May we continue to care for one another, uphold peace in our communities, and nurture the values that define us as Boholanos.”
