UBAY, BOHOL — Two more families received the keys to their new homes as the 92nd and 93rd houses under the Libreng Alagad ug Balay (LAB) Program of Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) were officially turned over on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Barangays Bay-ang and Humayhumay, Ubay, Bohol.
At 1 p. m., the 92nd LAB house was turned over to elderly sisters Markita Atuel, 70, and Martina Atuel, 63 of Purok 1, Barangay Bay-ang. The two, both single, had long lived in a dilapidated hut that posed serious safety risks, especially given their age and vulnerability.
Later that afternoon, at 2:30 p. m., the 93rd LAB house was turned over to Romulo Bacurio, 50 and Arlene Arañez, 50, together with their six children, in Purok 4, Barangay Humayhumay. The family expressed heartfelt gratitude for their long-awaited sanctuary — a safe place to rebuild their dreams and live in dignity.

The turnover ceremonies were led by Bohol Governor Erico Aris Aumentado and Representative Vanessa “Van-van” Aumentado, steadfast supporters of the initiative through their “Balay sa Paglaum” program.
Col. Patricio Degay Jr., provincial director of BPPO, extended his appreciation to the local government of Ubay headed by Mayor Violeta Reyes, the Ubay Municipal Police Station led by Capt. Amelito Melloria, and the barangay officials, tanods, and health workers whose teamwork made these milestones possible.
These back-to-back turnovers mark another chapter in PNP Bohol’s mission to uplift the lives of law-abiding and God-fearing Boholanos — a living testament to the PNP’s commitment to community service.
