PILAR, Bohol — A 21-year-old student was stabbed to death early Monday morning, October 13, 2025, outside the covered court in Barangay Poblacion, Pilar, Bohol, in what police described as a crime of jealousy.
The victim was identified as Jefferson Digal, 21, a resident of Barangay San Juan, Sierra Bullones.
Police identified the suspects as Chanil Consigna, 24, of Barangay Santa Cruz, Dagohoy, and Nelio Busaco of Barangay Catagdaan, Pilar.
According to a report from the Pilar Municipal Police Station, the incident happened around 3:40 a.m., shortly after a disco event held at the covered court. Witnesses said a heated argument broke out between the suspects and the victim before the attack.
The two suspects allegedly ganged up on Digal, repeatedly stabbing him in different parts of his body. He was rushed to the Congressman Simeon Torribio Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
One witness, Sherry Mae Busano, the live-in partner of suspect Consigna, told investigators that the confrontation stemmed from personal jealousy. She revealed that she was the former girlfriend of the victim, which police believe was the motive behind the attack.
After the stabbing, the suspects immediately fled the scene. Authorities have launched a manhunt operation to locate and arrest the two men.
