A powerful magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck offshore Manay, Davao Oriental, on Friday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs reported that the tremor occurred at 9:43 a.m. at a depth of 10 kilometers. Authorities warned that damage and aftershocks are expected following the strong quake.
It was also felt in Bohol province.
