A 39-year-old widow is in critical condition after being shot while singing karaoke at a store in Barangay Dait Norte, Buenavista town, around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
The victim was identified as Alma Ceniza Cañete, a resident of Barangay Liloan Norte, Inabanga.
According to reports, Cañete was at a friend’s store to help set up a karaoke machine. After the installation, she decided to test it by singing a few songs. She reportedly did not notice a man approaching her, who then suddenly shot her for still unknown reasons.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the head and the left shoulder.
She was rushed to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran City for treatment.
The Buenavista Municipal Police Station is conducting an investigation to identify the suspect and determine the motive behind the attack.
