Lawyer Jordan Pizarras, a congressional candidate for the first district of Bohol, expressed strong criticism of pre-election surveys, calling them tools to manipulate public perception and favor traditional politicians.
“Even pollsters in America got it wrong,” said Pizarras, referring to the recent U.S. presidential election where Donald Trump defied projections and secured a clear victory in key swing states.
He said, “Polls are meant to condition the minds of the people to stick to traditional politicians, without even discussing what the candidates truly stand for.”
Pizarras emphasized that unlike other candidates, he is the only one consistently raising the real, everyday struggles of ordinary Boholanos.
“I am running for the ordinary Boholano – for those who are weighed down by hardship,” he said. “But I’m the only candidate talking about the real issues people face every single day.”
He listed some of the problems many Boholanos continue to endure:
- Expensive fish
- High rice prices
- Costly goods and basic necessities
- Expensive transportation fares
- High electricity bills
- Unreliable water supply
- Widespread drug problem
- Slow and unreliable internet
- Low wages
- Lack of livelihood opportunities
- Stray dogs roaming the streets
- Poor waste collection
Pizarras, a renowned lawyer by profession, said his knowledge and experience in law will be used to craft real solutions to these everyday problems.
“We must use our knowledge of the law to fix these long-standing issues,” he stressed.
As the election approaches, Pizarras urged voters to go beyond the numbers and campaign noise.
“Surveys should not dictate who should win,” he said. “It’s the candidate with true conviction and a heart for the people who deserves to lead.”
