1 dead, 5 injured after v-hire hit building in Jagna town

One person was killed and five others were injured in an early Monday morning crash in Jagna town, Bohol.

The crash happened Monday at past 3 a. m. in Barangay Looc.

In the preliminary investigation conducted by the police, it was found that the Toyota UV Express Van, was traveling to Garcia Hernandez town, and upon reaching the area, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the slippery road caused by the rain, resulting in it crashing into the concrete pillar of Du Ek Sam building.

The van driver was identified as
Eleno Ganados Gaum, 44 , a resident of San Miguel town, Bohol. He died on the spot due to severe injuries and bruises.

The five passengers of the v-hire were injured. They were Van Russel Villafuerte, 20, from Barangay Boyoan, Candijay town, Bohol; Carl Ryan Tagacanao, 20, from Barangay Can-olin, Candijay, Bohol; Jovanni Bertumen, 27, from Barangay Del Monte, Alicia, Bohol; Sunday Elle, 45, from Barangay Abaca, Mabini, Bohol; and Arvin Cagampang, 51, from Barangay Pagahat, Candijay, Bohol. They were rushed to Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital through JEMRU-Jagna and Tarsier personnel.

In a statement released by a witness, the v-hire chased another v-hire while traveling to Tagbilaran.
