These were the names scratched onto corals as shared by Danilo “Don Don” Menorias on Facebook.
Another pictures show Korean characters inscribed on another coral. The post has been shared over 454 times as of this writing with many reacting angrily to the act.
Menorias, PADI divemaster, said the vandalized corals were spotted last July 1, 2024 in Virgin Island.
He warned that such an act could kill corals, which usually take hundreds of years to grow.

A reef assessment is currently being conducted on Saturday by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office (BPEMO), local government of Panglao and other reef rangers to investigate the incident.
The team left Poblacion, Panglao past 9:12 a. m.
