The annual Fusion Nights Fiesta at the Tagbilaran Old Airport has been a food destination for locals and tourists showcasing Boholano food culture and introducing foreign ones as well.
It became a venue for the best of the best in the food industry and a place for finding new tastes and flavors for everyone in the province during the Sandugo sa Bohol month of July.
Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte together with Doer Escoto, president of the Bohol Association of Hotels Resorts and Restaurants (BAHRR), Ma. Fe Dominise, head of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) led the ribbon cutting rites during the opening program last July 19.
Caberte underscored the sustained collaboration of the provincial government and BAHRR for the longer and more festive run of the culinary event.
Escoto highlighted the deep meaning the Sandugo event holds for Boholanos. He emphasized the spirit of unity, friendship and mutual respect in the shared values of preserving and promoting heritage and fostering growth.
The PGBh and BAHRR reaffirmed their longstanding partnership that began in post-earthquake recovery initiatives through a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement. This institutionalizes the collaborative work in the holding of the Fusion Nights Fiesta.
This year’s event presents a variety of food offerings, from international cuisines to “Sariling Atin”—Bohol’s version of authentic Filipino food from various tourism and food establishments. It also features a series of exciting activities and entertainment every night.
There were 13 establishments, namely: Best Western Plus The Ivy Wall Resort Panglao, 2. The Bellevue Resort, Kew Hotel, House of Lechon, The Lemon Co, Cameros Cakes and Desserts, Danny’s Dine and Wine, FCF Jai Ho Indian Resto, Booze Mobile Bar, K-bimboy Korean Resto, Mix Eat, The Shawarma Shack, and Hukad headline this year’s culinary hub.
