Veteran sports journalist Chino Trinidad died at the age of 56 late Saturday, July 13.Â
According to a report by GMA Integrated News, Trinidad died due to cardiac arrest.
Trinidad became commissioner of the defunct Philippine Basketball League. He also served as a PBA commentator, a boxing analyst, and a columnist in a colorful career that was reminiscent of his father Recah Trinidad.
He then moved back to the television industry as GMA’s sports correspondent.
After resigning in GMA, he founded Pilipinas HD, a free-to-air channel that broadcasts cultural programming.
