The Barangay Poblacion 3 emerged as the champion in this year’s Saulog sa Tagbilaran Saulog Street dancing, parade and ritual showdown on Wednesday, May 1.
Poblacion 3 also won the best in choreography.
Last year’s champion Barangay Tiptip was 1st runner-up in ritual showdown and second runner-up in street dancing category.
Barangay Cogon was declared 2nd runner – up in ritual showdown, first runner-up in street dancing and best in musicality.
Poblacion 2 emerged as 3rd runner-up for both the ritual and street dancing showdown.
The 4th runner-up for the ritual showdown was Barangay Dampas, while Barangay Cabawan emerged as 4th runner up for the street dancing category.
Mayor Jane Yap said that Saulog Tagbilaran 2024 was a culmination of months of hard work, dedication, and artistic expression as the talented performers from the 15 barangays of Tagbilaran.
She said it showcased the rich cultural heritage and dynamism of the city.
“Saulog Tagbilaran Street Dancing and Ritual Showdown is not just a spectacle of colorful costumes and rhythmic movements. It is a celebration of our identity, our unity, and our spirit as Tagbilaranons. Through dance and music, we give thanks to the Almighty God and honor our patron Sr. San Jose,” Yap said.
