No less than 107 retirees who served the provincial government in the best years of lives were honored in a ceremony on April 11 at the Capitol.
Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado led the handover of certificates of recognition and retirement rings to the retirees.
He was joined by provincial administrator Asteria Caberte, Mariquit Derikito-Oppus, Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office (PHRMDO) head, Board Member Elpidio Bonita, chair of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan committee on personnel and related policies, Board Member Aldner Damalerio and Vice Gov. Victor Balite represented by Junje Daguplo.
The governor congratulated and thanked the retirees, a number of whom spent as much as over 40 years in selfless and dedicated service to the Boholanos.
He also extended an invitation to them to visit the Capitol and proposed a retirees’ lounge where they can reminisce and reunite over a cup of coffee.
The PHRMDO also said the retirees are welcome to join the wellness activities held every Friday.
Meanwhile, Jo Cabarrus, former head of the Bohol Provincial Tourism Office, spoke on behalf of the retirees to express their gratitude to past and present administrations as well as to colleagues with which shared experiences of challenges, stress, and fulfillment have impacted her life.
She also offered tips for a purposeful retirement and the best quality of life.
Romulo Tagaan, former head of the Center for Culture and Arts Development Office, likewise shared his rewarding experience and expressed appreciation for the recognition of their service.
The honoring of retirees is part of the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence of the Capitol, through the PHRMDO, anchored on the strategic governance agenda. (PIMO/LMS)
