The official statement of Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado on the issues raised by Retired Colonel Teopisto Cabagnot of the operation of illegal Swertres in Bohol.
I have been apprised of the issues raised by Retired Colonel Teofisto Cabagnot of the operation of illegal Swertres in Bohol. As mentioned during his press conference, my instruction to him is for the legal operation of the numbers’ game under the auspices of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
It should be noted that during my State of the Province Address last year, I emphasized unequivocally my campaign against illegal Swertres and other forms of illegal gambling. I gave instructions to our Bohol Police Provincial Office, led by PCOL. Lorenzo Batuan, to organize operations and to put an end to the said social cancer.
In response to my directive, the PNP launched more than 500 operations across the province against illegal gambling last year, which included Swertres, resulting to the arrest and prosecution of illegal gambling operatives. This year alone, more than 100 operations were conducted by the PNP from January to February with additional illegal gambling operatives caught.
There is no stopping to our campaign and operation against illegal Swertes and other forms of illegal gambling. My commitment remains steadfast for clean governance. All violators, regardless if they are my relatives or friends, must face the full force and consequence of the law. Upon my request, the NBI has likewise launched an ongoing investigation on the matter.
Rest assured, your Provincial Government will continue to be persistent and focused in pushing our beloved province forward through clean governance, effective public service, inclusive growth, and by putting the welfare of Boholanos first. This is our collective pursuit. This is my pledge to all my fellow Boholanos.

Nakadungog ako sa mga isyu nga gilabay ni Retired Colonel Teofisto Cabagnot kabahin sa operasyon sa illegal nga Swertres sa Bohol. Isip pagtuman sa maong direktiba, nilusad ang PNP ug labaw sa 500 ka mga operasyon sa tibuok probinsya batok sa illegal nga sugal, lakip na ang Swertres, sa nilabay nga tuig ug nagresulta kini sa pagkadakop ug prosekusyon sa mga nagdumala sa maong illegal nga mga duwa. Karong tuiga, adunay kapin 100 ka mga operasyon ang gipahigayon sa PNP sa mga buwan sa Enero ug Pebrero, ug nadungangan pa ang mga nadakpan nga mga operatiba sa illegal gambling.
Magpadayon gihapon ang atong kampanya ug operasyon batok sa illegal Swertres ug uban pang klase sa ilegal nga mga sugal. Anaa gihapon ang akong pasalig kaninyo alang sa usa ka hinlo nga pamunuan o clean governance. Kinahanglang mu-atubang sa balaod ang tanang makalapas niini, bisan pa man og kini akong mga kaliwat o suod nga mga kaila. Aduna usab gipahigayong imbestigasyon ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) human kita nihangyo kanila nga ila kining tan-awon.
Makapasalig ang inyong Kagamhanang Probinsyal nga magpadayon ang atong mga paningkamot nga makab-ot sa probinsya ang kalamboan pinaagi sa hinlo nga pagdumala, epektibo nga serbisyo publiko, inklusibo nga pagsaka sa atong ekonomiya, ug labaw sa tanan, pagbutang sa kaayuhan sa mga Bol-anon sa atong gobyerno.
