The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Bohol distributed 120 livelihood packages under its Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbango at Ginhawa (PPG) program.
A ceremonial turn-over was held at the Provincial Capitol Building on Nov. 21 where DTI distributed assistance worth P8,000 to former rebels from the DTI-PPG.
This is an entrepreneurship program for small businesses from priority communities affected by natural hazards or armed conflict.
The distribution was coordinated by DTI in partnership with provincial government under Gov. Aris Aumentado through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (OPSWD) and other national government agencies, such as the Philippine National Police, and the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Beneficiaries also received t-shirts, volleyball, and basketball from the office of Sen. Christopher Lawrence Go.
One former rebel received cash assistance worth P60,000 from the Department of Interior and Local Government’s Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
E-CLIP offers livelihood assistance to former rebels who want to be integrated back into society when they abandon the armed struggle.
The turnover was led by DTI-Bohol’s Jerome Gabin, OIC chief SME development division; OIC Provincial Director Vierna Teresa Ligan, OPSWD officer Carmelita Tecson, DILG-Bohol provincial director Jerome Gonzales, Dunhill Sarmiento of the Bohol Provincial Police Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit Division; Oscar Valles, the provincial government’s chief-of-staff external affairs who represented Gov.
