At least 96 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in the Tagbilaran City Jail have exercised their right to suffrage on Monday, Oct. 30.
Jail Officer 3 Gina Sumampong said among the eligible PDL voters, there were 74 males and 20 females. There were 10 who voted for SK.
PDLs have cast their votes at 6 a. m. It was finished at 9 a. m.
Sumampong said it was the first time that detainees can vote for the village and youth polls in accordance with the 2022 decision from the Supreme Court (SC).
The PDLs were only allowed to vote for barangay Cabawan.
