Bishop Abet Uy has celebrated the 6th anniversary of his ordination as a bishop on Thursday, Jan. 5, with the fire victims of Barangay Poblacion 2 in Tagbilaran City.
He celebrated a Holy Mass at the evacuation center for fire victims who lost their homes last Dec. 23. 2022.
In his homily, Bishop Uy spoke about the role of the Church in supporting and caring for those in need, particularly during times of hardship and crisis.
He emphasized that the Church is there for the people, and that it is the duty of all Catholics to reach out and lend a helping hand to those in need.
The Mass provided comfort and hope to those who have been displaced by the fire, and Bishop Abet’s generosity and compassion were greatly appreciated by those in attendance.
In addition to celebrating Mass and providing assistance, the Bishop also took the time to speak with individuals and listen to their concerns and needs.
