Due to inclement weather, the local government unit of Candijay suspended classes in elementary and secondary schools on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022.
Candijay Mayor Thamar Olaivar on announced the suspension of all classes in elementary and secondary in public and private schools due to bad weather and heavy rainfall.
“After a thorough deliberation, we have identified areas prone to flooding and landslides, due to the rainfall that we are experiencing today,” she posted on Facebook.
Classes are suspended in Panadtaran Elem. School, Canawa Elem. School,
Tambongan National High School, Luan Elem. School, Candijay Central Elem. School, Panas Elem. School, Tubod Elem. School, Cambane Elem. School, La Union Elem. School, La Union National High School, Anoling Elem. School and
Anoling High School.
“As for the rest of the schools, it is always the discretion of the parents if they will send their children to school or keep them home for their safety,”she added.
Pagasa said a low pressure area off Surigao del Sur which is now bringing rains over a wide area in the country may intensify into a tropical depression.
